A plant engineer in the textiles industry is using the OPC DataHub to write data into a SQL Server database, in order to track the performance of his plant machinery. He logs when any given machine starts or stops, based on product, shift and operator. Previously, this information had to be recorded manually by the operators themselves. Now, by linking his OPC server to an SQL Server database, he can automatically generate his reports, and they are always accurate.
