Bonus Features for Version 6.4

A new release of version 6.4 of the OPC DataHub, with some bonus features, is now available for download. This release, 6.4.12, contains some important enhancements and bug fixes for the Web Server, Gamma, and OPC connectivity. It also has some handy new features that we wanted to implement right away, before the next major release. These include:

  • The ability to encrypt DataHub scripts
  • Impoved drag and drop of arrays into Excel (no need to use "Paste Special")
  • Danish, Spanish, and Romanian translations of the DataHub interface

To get the best possible experience and performance from your OPC DataHub, we encourage you to download this latest version and try it out.

Encrypting DataHub Scripts

The latest DataHub archive contains a script called EncryptScript.g that lets you make an encrypted copy of any Gamma script.

Running the script adds a new Script Encryption option to the OPC DataHub's system tray menu that allows you to select and encrypt any OPC DataHub script. There are two choices for encryption: 8-bit characters or ASCII.

Multiple Language Support

You can now work with the OPC DataHub in five different languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, Danish, and Romanian. Just choose the language you need from the Interface Language drop-down list in the General Properties window:

We want to express our appreciation to Torben Pleidrup at NIRAS in Denmark for the Danish translation; to Sara Scaloni at SUMELCO Technologies in Spain for the Spanish translation; to Horia Chirculescu at ViaNet in Romania for the Romanian translation; and to Ryuji Takeuchi at Takebishi Corporation in Japan, with Shizuka Thomas at Cogent Real-Time Systems, for the Japanese translation.
