2.5. Tunnelling part of the data set

You often don't need to tunnel all of the data from an OPC server across the network. It is faster and takes less bandwidth to transfer only the data you need. The OPC DataHub allows you to do this by setting up a separate data domain for the tunnelled data. In fact, you can aggregate parts of data sets from several servers into a single data domain, and then tunnel that combined data set across the network.

Putting data from one or more servers into a separate data domain is done through OPC bridging. When you configure bridges, just make sure to create target points in a new, separate data domain. For more information on OPC bridging, please refer to Chapter 4, OPC Bridging.
